Rain may have soaked the lawn and their clothes, but attendees said it couldn’t dampen their spirits at the 6th annual Jazz on the Hill benefit concert for St. Mary’s School in Virgin Gorda Saturday.

“The hardcore parents and fans were out there with us until 1:30 in the morning,” said St. Mary’s School Principal Laura Fox.

Ms. Fox said the storm, which lit up the sky with lightning in addition to dropping what seemed like buckets of rain, did make for smaller-than-usual crowds and a few unusual challenges.

“We had to keep an eye on our electrics, but actually serving the food was our biggest challenge,” Ms. Fox said, adding that she was particularly impressed with the performers.

“It didn’t phase them at all,” she said.
