“Listen carefully: Educating our people is the golden plan to maintaining the success of this territory,” Jahkoy Martin and J’Dya Sprauve said in unison, speaking to a crowd of more than 2,000 people at the Sir Rupert Briercliffe Hall on Sunday during the Prince and Princess Show.

The pair, who would later be crowned the winners, competed with seven other couples representing different schools in the territory: Alonzo Potter and Corin Bateman; Kenja Molyneaux and Shannel Matthew; Joshanti Caines and Mackimba Fahie; Aniyah Wilkinson and Alex Lawrence; Keyona Cameron and Kesson Orosco; Malike and Kyra Romney; and Chantel Mowaghan and Starling Montero.

The competition included five segments: introduction, cultural wear, cartoon character wear, talent and eveningwear.

The winner will take part in August Emancipation Festival activities, including the official opening night on Friday.
