Only a few brave government employees chose to participate in the Public Service Week aerobics session on Friday afternoon, breaking a sweat while shuffling, punching and kicking at the behest of the exercise instructor.

At the end of the half-hour gathering, those workers enjoyed fresh oranges and water before setting out on a walk to the BVI Red Cross and back to the Central Administration Building – capping off the second-to-last day of Public Service Week, the annual week of activities and events for government workers.

Along with the walk and aerobics class, there were also softball games and an education session that featured nutrition experts and physical trainers giving health advice.

Employee Relations Manager Clearlie Brown, who helped organised the week, said the physical activities were added as a part of the government’s ongoing “Motivating Officers to Value Exercise” initiative.
