“Are you single?” emcee Theodore James asked Errol Hazel after he sang Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World.” “Because I just wanted to auction you off to the highest bidder.”

The question drew screams of affirmation from the women in the audience of more than 400 on Sunday at the Sir Rupert Briercliffe Hall.

Mr. Hazel was among about a dozen performers and groups to take the stage during the Public Service Talent Extravaganza and Fashion Show, which was among activities held in observation of Public Service Week.

Most attendees wore blue, yellow, red or green shirts, representing their respective teams. They were asked to mark an attendance sheet so that the team with the most participants could receive additional points.
