Seventeen-year-old Yadali Thomas has never been a “girly girl,” and she never aspired to a glamorous lifestyle, she told reporters shortly after winning the Miss Fifth Form Pageant on Saturday at the Multi-purpose Sports Complex.

However, she added, she likes to try new things and she enjoys being on stage — qualities that served her well on Saturday.

During the pageant, the Elmore Stoutt High School student competed against three of her fifth form classmates: Oundré-a Smith, Mia Francis and Jelifa Robinson.

Besides the crown, Ms. Thomas captured the titles of Miss Congeniality, Miss Popularity, Miss Photogenic, Miss Poised, Best Eveningwear, and Miss Intellect.

In the talent segment, she tied with Ms. Francis, the first runner-up, who was also named Most Determined to Succeed. Ms. Smith won the title for Personal Development.
