Royal Wedding: The Tortola Toastmasters and Governor Boyd McCleary will host a Royal Ball all tonight as part of celebrations for Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding tomorrow. The event at starts at 8 p.m. at Government House.

Poetry: Virgin Islands poet Richard Georges will read selections of his work at a poetry reading from 6:30-8 p.m. tonight at Drake’s Point Restaurant at Fort Burt.

Happy hour: The Dove has champagne happy hour every night of the workweek except Monday. Head upstairs to the Bar Fly for tapas and a variety of cocktails.

Happy hours: Take a drive to Cane Garden Bay for live music during happy hour at Quito’s Gazebo. It’s also TGIF at the Royal BVI Yacht Club from 12-5 p.m. DJ Dre will be behind the turntable at the Calypso Café happy hour, which starts at 5 p.m.

Volunteering: Join Rotaractors today from 5:30 p.m. for their weekly meeting at the Ward Building in Road Town. The group of young volunteers welcomes ages 18-30.

Saturday

Fun Day: The Agape Total Life Centre will host a Fun Day at Nanny Cay and the Sea Cows Bay softball field from 8 a.m. There will be an “old fashioned” breakfast and barbeque during the event.

History: Want to help preserve Virgin Islands history? Volunteers will be clearing Port Purcell, the ruins to the east of Pockwood Pond known as “the Dungeon,” starting at 10 a.m. today. Their aim is to turn the location into a historical site.

Party: It’s the Cosmic Bowling Party at U.P.’s Cineplex tonight from 10 p.m. A guest DJ will be behind the turntable.

Sports: Extra calories to burn? Today might be the right day for you to do something about it. Wake up early and join the exercisers who jog and walk in the morning.

Sunday

Beach: Today may the best day to visit of the many beaches on the island.

Karaoke: Feel free to carry your own musical key tonight at Nexus Café. Gadiethz will host karaoke from 7 p.m.

Video games: Get your family and friends to Myett’s today. Wii games will be playing tonight from 5 p.m. Options include tennis, bowling and others.

Tuesday

Quiz: It’s quiz night at the Royal BVI Yacht Club.

Dance: Free dance lessons are offered by Sarah Penney and friends at the Spy Glass Lounge at Treasure Isle beginning at about 7:30 p.m.

Music: Head to Bananakeet Café Wednesday and Friday nights for an opportunity to hear local singer and 12-string guitarist Reuben Chinnery perform at 6 p.m. Arrive by 4 p.m. and you can enjoy happy hour until 6 daily.
