“It’s very good!”

Audience members shouted these three phrases during Improv Night on Friday at the Eileene L. Parsons Auditorium.

Three actors then used each of them in an improvised scene, playing the part of friends arguing over how to spend their day.

The trio was among several current and former members of the Elmore Stoutt High School Drama Society who undertook similar challenges with the help of an array of props and costumes that lined the stage.

“This is a game where we think off the top of our heads, we have synergy, we act with each other and just have fun,” organiser Janice George-Harris said at the beginning of the night.

Along with showcasing the territory’s young actors, the event was held to raise funds for children who can’t afford to attend Edu Care’s summer Drama Camp, which is organised by Ms. George-Harris.

The programme, which is held at the end of summer, teaches the basics of drama and theatre arts.

“More people are beginning to understand [theatre arts] and support it,” said Ms. George-Harris, who also took part in the improvisations.
