More than 300 young dancers are to perform at Saturday’s BVI Children’s DanceFest

at the Sir Rupert Briercliffe Hall, organisers said.

The show, which is to start at 6:30 p.m., will include ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop and liturgical styles. Performers will range in age from 4 to teenagers.

The performance is the 10th supported by the BVI DanceFest Committee, an organisation that includes 13 members dedicated to promoting dance and raising funds and financial aid for children who normally wouldn’t be able to afford dance lessons, according to a press release from organisers.

The committee also funds student trips, promotes dance education and is working to equip a proposed dance centre in the Virgin Islands.

Tickets are on sale now at Bolo’s Department Store, Radio Doctor and Sensus Gym. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for ages 13-18 and free for ages 12 and under. Last year’s performance sold out, organisers said.
