This year’s Festival Village will be named in honour of long-time Virgin Islands calypsonian Titus “Mighty Rocky” Crabbe.

Mr. Crabbe has been playing calypso music for more than 40 years, according to a press release from the Virgin Islands Festival and Fairs Committee.

“He started his career as a singer and guitar player in the Church of God of Prophecy choir in the 1960s, and in 1968 he was inspired to try his talent in the calypso arena.”

It was then that he took the name “Mighty Rocky.”
