According to Luther B’s calypso song “Legacy,” Opposition Leader Ralph O’Neal should consider retiring from political office and handing over the reins of power to a younger leader, thus leaving behind a strong legacy.

The singer, whose real name is Luther Butler, took first prize for the third year in a row at the annual Calypso Competition on Saturday at the Festival Village. He will be appearing in August Emancipation Festival events in the coming days.

At the show, Luther B competed against 16 other calypsonians for a vehicle and a cash prize of $3,000.

During the show, which lasted more than five hours, the performers sang about social ills, competition organisers and government officials, among other topics.
