The Central Statistics Office is surveying residents to determine the extent of the damage and loss caused by hurricanes Irma and Maria.

To that end, 15 CSO officers have been deployed to conduct the surveys at households, supermarkets and other busy areas around the territory, according to CSO Director Raymond Phillips.

They are distributing a one-page questionnaire that can be completed within five to ten minutes, according to Mr. Phillips, who urged everyone who is approached to cooperate.

The survey, which will be distributed until Saturday, includes questions about household appliances, other amenities, food, clothing and insurance.

The data generated from the effort will supplement other information acquired through the Town and Country Planning Department’s building assessments and the Macro Fiscal Unit’s economic analysis, according to the CSO.
