The Watering Hole was packed on Saturday evening, and not just with people.
Dogs were also in attendance at Cocktails for a Cause, which was held at the Road Town restaurant from 6 to 11 p.m.
The event raised $2,400 for Promoting Animal Welfare, a local spay-and-neuter programme founded by Natasha Ruscheinski in 2014.
Hope Hill resident Carol Valero, who took her two foster puppies to the fundraiser, said she figured it was the perfect place to show them off.
“I thought it was a great opportunity to get them adopted,” she said, as she cradled one of the sandy-coloured dogs in her arms. “They’re sisters, so I hope they stay together.”
Ms. Valero said she was also pleased to be supporting PAW because she’s concerned about animal overpopulation in the territory.
“The BVI doesn’t need any more dogs that are homeless,” she remarked.
